Introducing Christopher Ward Expands the Trident Collection with a 44mm Edition

The C60 Trident Pro 300 Balances a Slim Profile with High-Performance Dive Capability

Last summer, Christopher Ward introduced the Trident Reef collection, a bright, playful series of dive watches designed for sun-soaked adventures. Measuring a bold 44mm in diameter, the Reef quickly found favor among enthusiasts. Building on that momentum, the brand has now expanded its core tool-watch lineup to include the same larger format. Enter the 44mm Trident Pro 300 and the 44mm C60 Trident GMT. With 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and now 44mm options available, the Trident family truly offers something for every wrist.

The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 marks a notable shift in the brand’s approach to professional dive watches. Developed in close dialogue with the enthusiast community, it responds to calls for a slimmer, more wearable daily diver, without compromising capability. While earlier 600-meter versions cemented the Trident’s reputation as a serious tool watch, the Pro 300 refines the formula, particularly in this larger 44mm execution.

Rather than chasing extreme depth ratings, Christopher Ward has prioritized real-world comfort. Reducing water resistance to a still-impressive 300 meters allowed engineers to significantly slim the case, resulting in a watch that wears comfortably under a cuff while retaining the presence expected of a modern sports diver. The shift transforms the Trident from a purely rugged instrument into a more versatile everyday companion.

The 44mm case features the brand’s signature Light-catcher architecture, designed to minimize visual bulk through intricate finishing. A combination of brushed and polished surfaces breaks up the mass, while sculpted case sides catch the light and add depth. Despite its size, the watch avoids feeling slab-like. The 51.4mm lug-to-lug length gives it authority on larger wrists, yet the downward-curving lugs ensure a secure, ergonomic fit.

At just 11.7mm thick, the Pro 300 is noticeably slimmer than its predecessors, a change that dramatically improves balance on the wrist. With the reduced depth rating, Christopher Ward also opted for a sapphire exhibition caseback, offering a view of the movement, an uncommon but welcome feature in a professional dive watch.

Alongside the Pro 300, Christopher Ward has also introduced the Trident GMT in the same 44mm format. Slightly thicker at 12.15mm, the added height accommodates the extra GMT hand and the alternative movement. The GMT models are powered by the Sellita SW330-2, while the three-hand Pro 300 relies on the Sellita SW200-1.

The bezel of the C60 Trident Pro 300 features a unidirectional rotation mechanism and a zirconia ceramic insert, chosen for its exceptional hardness and scratch resistance. A distinctive two-part construction sets it apart: a rotating outer bezel paired with a fixed inner steel ring engraved with minute markers, enhancing both legibility and visual depth.

The dial is finished in polished black lacquer, providing a glossy backdrop for the applied indices. These have been enlarged compared to previous generations, allowing for greater luminous fill. Each index features top-brushed surfaces with diamond-polished facets, catching light from multiple angles. At 12 o’clock, the applied twin-flags logo, symbolizing the brand’s English and Swiss roots, balances the color-matched date window positioned at 6 o’clock, creating a clean, symmetrical layout.

The hands are bold and generously filled with Super-LumiNova Grade X1 BL C1, known for its strong and long-lasting glow. The seconds hand adopts an arrowhead tip rather than the traditional trident counterbalance, lending a sharper, more technical look. The trident motif remains subtly present as a nod to the collection’s heritage.

Powering the watch is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, a proven and widely respected calibre. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), it offers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The movement includes hacking seconds for precise time-setting and is protected by an integrated anti-shock system. Finished in Elaboré grade with a ‘Colimaçoné’ spiral pattern and a customized twin-flags rotor, it delivers a level of decoration that exceeds purely utilitarian expectations. Timing tolerance is rated at ±20 seconds per day.

The C60 Trident Pro 300 is delivered on Christopher Ward’s Bader bracelet, named after one of the brand’s founders. Crafted from marine-grade stainless steel, the three-link design balances flexibility with stability. A more pronounced taper, narrowing by 16.5mm at the clasp, enhances comfort, particularly during desk work. The clasp features a tool-free micro-adjustment ratchet system, while compatibility with the brand’s Aquaflex rubber strap adds further versatility.

The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 44mm is priced at USD 1,255 (approximately AED 4,600) on the bracelet, and USD 1,045 (approximately AED 3,840) on the rubber strap.
