An eight-piece limited edition inspired by a traditional Japanese theatre kimono
Chopard is one of the rare brands that pays tribute to various cultures through its creations. This year, the Maison unveiled an array of exquisite timepieces inspired by Japanese artistry, including the L.U.C Quattro Spirit Collection, L.U.C XP Nihontō, and L.U.C Full Strike Spirit of the Warrior.

Continuing this celebration of Japanese heritage, the brand now presents the L.U.C XP Sakura by Night, a delicate dialogue between Swiss haute horlogerie and Japanese aesthetics. Inspired by a traditional Japanese theatre kimono, this creation pays homage to yozakura, the nocturnal contemplation of cherry blossoms.
The watch is crafted from 18-carat ethical yellow gold, measuring 35 mm in diameter and 7.70 mm in thickness. The case is adorned with diamonds across the lugs, bezel, and flanks, and topped with a glare-proof sapphire crystal for improved legibility. The crown is engraved with the L.U.C logo, while the sapphire crystal caseback reveals the beauty of the hand-engraved movement. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
The dial combines guilloché engraving, translucent lacquer, sculpted pink mother-of-pearl, and yellow gold accents to depict cherry blossoms glowing under the moonlight. Each petal is individually engraved, hand-tinted, and embellished with diamonds. The composition is completed by gilded Dauphine-type hands.
Powering the watch is the automatic L.U.C Calibre 96.23-L, decorated using the traditional Fleurisanne engraving technique performed by Chopard’s artisans. The white gold bridges serve as a canvas for gilded sakura motifs, achieved through engraving and surface stippling, a process requiring around 15 days of meticulous work. The movement features a 22-carat white gold micro-rotor that winds two stacked barrels via Chopard Twin Technology, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offering a 65-hour power reserve.

Completing the watch is a blue alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching, secured by an 18-carat ethical yellow gold pin buckle set with diamonds. Limited to only eight pieces, the L.U.C XP Sakura by Night is priced at EUR 162,500, approximately AED 698,000.
