Introducing Chopard Unveils The Alpine Eagle XL Chrono In Maritime Blue

Chopard's journey into the realm of luxury sports watches began in 1980 with the “St. Moritz” that featured a distinctive bezel, adorned with eight screws. While the production of the “St. Moritz” eventually ceased, it was reborned in 2019 as the “Alpine Eagle”.

A collection that features Lucent Steel, a robust steel alloy consisting of 80% recycled materials, that offers superior durability and enhanced luminosity when compared to conventional steel alloys, with dials that are draws its inspiration from the Alpine eagle eye, while maintaining some elements from its predecessor.

In 2020, Chopard expanded its “Alpine Eagle collection” by adding a chronograph function, and introducing the “Alpine Eagle XL Chrono”. This timepiece offered Pitch Black or Aletsch Blue dials, each elegantly paired with a Lucent Steel A223 case, and an additional Lucent Steel A223 and 18k rose gold case for the Pitch Black version.

Chopard now unveils an exclusive addition to the Alpine Eagle collection, an exceptional timepiece available solely in the brand's boutiques. Featuring an unexpected color scheme, the Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono With Maritime Blue Dial.

As mentioned above, the watch features a brushed and polished Lucent A223 steel case, maintaining the same dimensions as the previous Alpine Eagle XL Chrono, measuring 44 mm in diameter and 13.5 mm in thickness with a big chronograph pushers on the right side of the case band. It boasts a glare-proof sapphire crystal that covers both the top and caseback, and it offers a water resistance up to 100 meters.

The dial takes center stage in this timepiece, marking the first instance in which the brand introduces this bold color to the collection. It is embellished with brass disc that bears a Maritime Blue sunburst pattern and features a snailed tri-compax dial, including a 30-minute chronograph sub-dial at 3 o'clock, small seconds at 6 o'clock, with a date window positioned between them, and an elapsed chronograph hour sub-dial at 9 o'clock. Additionally, the dial is adorned with rhodium-plated hands, applied Roman numerals, and indices with a Super-LumiNova coating.

Powering the watch is an in-house caliber 03.05-C, which is chronometer-certified by COSC. It features an integrated automatic flyback chronograph, operated by a column wheel and vertical clutch with an openworked rotor, running at 28,800 vph (4Hz), and providing 60 hours of power reserve.

The new “Alpine Eagle XL Chrono” comes with a black rubber strap with a Lucent Steel pin buckle, priced at EUR 20,800 which is equivalent to AED 81,000.
