A trilogy of Grand Feu enamel jumping-hour masterpieces
The L.U.C Quattro Spirit collection was first introduced in 2021 with the debut of the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25, a special edition celebrating the 25th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture, established in 1996. That inaugural model marked Chopard’s first-ever jumping-hour wristwatch, combining the Maison’s hallmark Quattro technology with its eight-day power reserve.
Following its success, the model laid the foundation for later artistic editions, including the recent ventures into Japanese culture with the release of the L.U.C Full Strike Spirit of the Warrior and the L.U.C XP Nihontō. In its latest creations, the brand continues exploring this cultural dialogue, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the Japanese warrior with the L.U.C Quattro Spirit “Samurai Last Stand,” alongside the L.U.C Quattro Spirit Ensō and Meditating Daruma editions.
The Samurai Last Stand is crafted in 18-carat ethical rose gold, while the Ensō and Meditating Daruma come in 18-carat ethical white gold cases, all measuring 40 mm in diameter and 10.3 mm in thickness. The softly curved profile takes inspiration from hunter-style pocket watches once designed by Louis-Ulysse Chopard. A combination of a polished bezel and vertically satin-brushed case middle enhances the refined geometry, while the anti-reflective sapphire crystal ensures both protection and clarity.
The dial of the rose gold model is crafted in Grand Feu enamel and depicts the Tattered Fan, a rare motif symbolizing the fragility of life and the perseverance of the samurai. This design, inspired by a battle fan admired by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele during a visit to Japan, reflects the warrior’s courage and determination to fight on despite adversity. The delicate pattern pays tribute to Japanese textile art and the philosophical resilience rooted in its culture. The dauphine fusée hand glides across the enamel surface, while the jumping-hour aperture sits at 6 o’clock.
In the Ensō edition, the dial features a Grand Feu enamel depiction of the ensō circle, a meditative symbol representing the balance between emptiness, fullness, imperfection, and presence. The hand is rhodium-plated Dauphine fusée style, and the power-reserve indicator appears on the caseback.
The Meditating Daruma edition presents a minimalist portrayal of the Daruma monk silhouette, inspired by Zen iconography and the principle of perseverance. It features the same movement, hands, power-reserve indication, and finishing standards.

Through the exhibition caseback, the beauty of Calibre L.U.C 98.06-L is fully revealed. The bridges, decorated with Côtes de Genève motifs and gilded engravings, highlight the meticulous finishing. The movement offers an exceptional 192-hour (eight-day) power reserve, powered by Chopard’s Quattro technology, which uses four stacked barrels in series to ensure consistent energy delivery and remarkable precision. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and is equipped with a swan’s neck regulator for fine adjustment.
Each watch is fitted with a hand-sewn alligator leather strap, paired with a polished and satin-brushed pin buckle in matching 18-carat ethical rose or white gold. Every model is limited to eight pieces, priced at EUR 64,100, which is approximately AED 272,000.
