Introducing Chopard and Art In Time Unveil XPS His & Hers Chameleon Set

Collaborations in horology have become a significant trend in the industry, and Chopard has collaborated with numerous notable figures, including Belgian racer Jacky Ickx, in whose honor it released the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7. One of the brand’s most recent collaborations this year is with Art in Time, resulting in two new additions to the Alpine Eagle collection: the 41 XPS His & Hers Chameleon Set, featuring dials inspired by the vibrant hues of chameleons.

The two watches come in different sizes, with one designed for women and the other for men. The “41mm XPS His Chameleon set” model features a 41mm case with a thickness of 8.2mm, while the “36 Hers Chameleon set”, which has a more feminine design, comes with a 36mm case and a thickness of 8.4mm. Both cases are made of stainless steel, following the familiar Chopard case design with an eight-screw bezel. The most notable difference between the two is the bezel itself, the smaller model is adorned with 36 baguette-cut sapphires, harmoniously blending shades of blue and purple. Both versions offer water resistance up to 100 meters, thanks to the screw-down crown. The caseback, also secured with eight screws, is fitted with a sapphire crystal that reveals the movement.

The dials feature an eye-catching color-changing effect, shifting from blue to purple depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions. Each dial is designed with hour and minute hands coated in SuperLumiNova, ensuring visibility in low light. The applied hour indices, also coated with the same luminescent material, are complemented by a white minute track printed around the edges. The main difference between the two models is the seconds display, the “41mm XPS His” uses a subdial at 6 o’clock to show the small seconds, while the “36mm Hers” Chameleon features a central seconds hand, for a more traditional look.

The "41mm XPS His Chameleon set" operates with the L.U.C 96.40-L automatic movement, which features a gold micro-rotor and provides a power reserve of 65 hours, composed of 176 parts and 29 jewels, with a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). Meanwhile, the Chopard 36 Hers Chameleon watch is powered by the Chopard 09.01-C automatic movement, offering a 42-hour power reserve. It consists of 148 parts and 27 jewels, operating at a slightly lower frequency of 25,200 vph (3.5Hz). Both movements are COSC certified and decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes.

Both come with a stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp. The watches are sold as a set that's limited to 15 pieces and priced at EUR 60,250, which is approximately equivalent to AED 241,000.
