Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
In collaboration with the brand’s Swiss retailer, Gübelin
Bvlgari has grown from a small jewellery shop on Via Sistina in Rome, Italy, into a global symbol of Italian luxury. Over time, the brand boldly ventured into watchmaking, where it has established a stronghold through technical feats, particularly with its Octo Finissimo collection, which has broken multiple records in ultra-thin horology.
In 2022, the brand introduced a skeletonised version of the Octo Finissimo, featuring an impressive 192 days power reserve, and called it the Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days. This year, Bvlgari is releasing a special edition of this watch in collaboration with the Swiss jewellery retailer Gübelin.
The watch features a 40mm case crafted entirely in sandblasted titanium, giving it a distinct matte finish. At just 5.95mm thick, it underscores Bvlgari’s expertise in ultra-thin engineering. The titanium crown is fitted with a black ceramic insert. Flipping the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback, etched with the inscription “Gübelin Special Edition” in the same striking blue accent seen on the dial.
The skeletonised dial showcases Bvlgari’s finely finished movement. A network of matte grey openworked bridges puts the inner mechanics on full display, including the barrel positioned between 12 and 2 o’clock. Blue accents highlight the hour and minute hands, applied indices, small seconds subdial, and the power reserve indicator at 7:30.
Powering the watch is the BVL 199 SK, a manual-winding calibre developed in-house by Bvlgari. At just 2.5mm thick, this ultra-thin engine delivers a robust 192-hour (8-day) power reserve, beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz).
It comes with an integrated sandblasted titanium bracelet, perfectly matched to the case in both texture and tone, and secured by a triple-blade folding clasp. The watch is available exclusively through Gübelin boutiques and their online store. It is limited, though the exact production quantity has not been disclosed. The price is CHF 27,900, approximately AED 121,700.
