Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A blue marble dial captures the essence of Italian sophistication
The Bvlgari Octo collection, introduced in 2014, reflects a design approach influenced by Roman architectural forms, particularly the octagon as a classical motif. Combining Italian design language with Swiss manufacturing standards, the collection offers watches that are visually distinct and technically sound. With models like the Octo Finissimo pushing the limits of ultra-thin mechanical movements, Octo has built its identity on steady innovation in materials and engineering. Today, during the Geneva Watch Days Exhibition, Bvlgari introduced the latest addition to the series, the "Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble" edition.
The case of the watch features a remarkably slim profile, measuring 40 mm in diameter and just 5.75 mm thick true to the collection’s focus on ultra-thin watchmaking. Its iconic octagonal shape draws inspiration from Roman architectural forms, rendered here in satin-polished platinum for a subtle, refined finish. A transparent case back reveals the inner components. The polished white gold crown, set with a black ceramic insert, offers a discreet contrast in material, and its water resistance of 30 meters.
The dial is carved from deep blue Italian marble, giving each piece a naturally unique texture and pattern. This material choice not only reflects Bvlgari’s Roman heritage but also adds a sculptural quality to the watch face. A flying tourbillon is positioned at 6 o’clock, serving as both a technical focal point and a visual anchor. Long white hour markers and a single Arabic numeral at 12 provide a clean contrast against the rich stone backdrop. Skeletonized hands maintain the minimalist aesthetic while allowing more of the marble surface to remain visible.
The watch is powered by the calibre BVL 268, an ultra-thin manual-winding mechanical movement measuring only 1.95 mm thick. Despite its minimal profile, it features a flying tourbillon, a technically demanding complication that adds both visual interest and horological value. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz), and delivers a 52-hour power reserve. It comes with a Blue alligator leather strap with polished platinum pin buckle, and the price is upon request.
