Introducing Bvlgari Shines Again with the World's Thinnest Tourbillon

Bvlgari has always served as a bridge between the elegance of Italian design and the precision of Swiss watchmaking, beginning its journey with luxury jewelry craftsmanship before seamlessly merging it with the world of watchmaking, and the rest is history. This year, the brand marked another milestone by debuting at Watches & Wonders 2025 with a new world record: the astonishing Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, now the world's thinnest tourbillon.

Last year, Piaget released the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon, which was the thinnest tourbillon ever at just 2 mm thick. Just when we thought this was the thinnest humanly possible watch in that category, Bvlgari once again raised the bar with an almost unbelievable 1.85 mm-thick tourbillon watch, setting a new benchmark for ultra-thin timepieces.

This 40 mm marvel was achieved through innovative material usage and meticulous design. The bezel, case middle, and lugs are crafted from microbead-frosted titanium, giving the watch a sleek, modern appearance while maintaining structural integrity. Meanwhile, the main plate is made from tungsten carbide, a compound of tungsten and carbon chosen for its exceptional stiffness and resistance to deformation despite its wafer-thin profile.

The case also features two planar crowns that subtly emerge from the case. Positioned at 8 o'clock for winding the mechanism and at 3 o'clock for time setting, these crowns are made of stainless steel with a circular-grained finish.

The skeletonized, multi-layered dial structure offers a dynamic view of the components in motion, with polished edges and fine beveling that showcase Bvlgari's attention to detail. The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands sit against a sandblasted brass surface with a DLC anthracite coating at 1:30. The tourbillon bridge at 4:30 is meticulously finished, with a polished slope on the bezel flange.

The watch is powered by the new ultra-thin BVF 900 tourbillon calibre, a manually wound mechanical movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 42-hour power reserve. It comes with an integrated microbead-frosted titanium bracelet measuring just 1.5mm thick, including the folding clasp. The price is 750,000 EURO.
