Introducing Breitling Unveils the Superocean Automatic 42 Sylt Edition

The Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 Sylt Edition captures the rugged allure of Germany’s most iconic North Sea destination, the island of Sylt. Limited to just 50 pieces, this special edition diver’s watch blends professional functionality with a Nordic-inspired aesthetic, paying tribute to the scenic charm of the popular holiday getaway.

Housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case with a comfortable height of 12.56 mm, the watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel made from scratch-resistant ceramic in a dark tone that complements its seafaring character. With a water resistance of up to 300 meters, the Superocean Sylt Edition meets the demands of serious diving.

A distinctive touch awaits on the reverse side: the caseback is engraved with a pair of seals, flanked by the inscriptions "Sylt Edition" and "One of 50", evoking the island’s wildlife and exclusivity.

The dial is a tribute to the colors of the sea and sky between Kampen and List, with a deep blue center surrounded by an azure blue rehaut hosting the minute track. The hour markers and hands, also in blue tones, are designed for maximum readability. Drawing inspiration from the legendary SuperOcean Slow Motion models of the 1960s and 1970s, the differentiated hand design ensures quick legibility under all conditions. All indexes and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, guaranteeing visibility in the darkest depths.

At the heart of the watch beats the Breitling Caliber 17, an automatic movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 38-hour power reserve. Like all Breitling calibers, it is a COSC-certified chronometer, ensuring precision and reliability.

The watch is fitted with a marine blue rubber strap, secured by an adjustable folding clasp offering up to 15 mm of extension ideal for wearing over a wetsuit or outdoor gear, while maintaining comfort during aquatic adventures.

The Superocean Automatic 42 Sylt Edition is exclusively available at Juwelier H. Spliedt and select Breitling boutiques. Limited to 50 pieces, it is priced at EUR 5,350, equivalent to approximately AED 23,000.
