The Most Advanced Dive Watch in the Collection Now Available as a Permanent Edition
Blancpain introduced the Fifty Fathoms Tech collection in 2023, representing its latest and most advanced line of professional dive watches. The collection began with the 70th-anniversary edition, the “Fifty Fathoms Act 2 Tech Gombessa,” followed by the “Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV.” Today, Blancpain continues to expand the Tech family with the third addition to the line, its first non-limited, permanent release: the “Fifty Fathoms Tech 45mm.” Unlike the previous limited editions.
The new titanium dive watch joins the brand’s regular collection. It’s designed to combine professional underwater performance with everyday practicality, marking a clear return to the 45mm diameter after Blancpain’s recent focus on smaller sizes.
The Fifty Fathoms Tech 45mm debuts in the permanent collection equipped with a new interchangeable strap system, expanding the watch’s technical and aesthetic versatility. Three bold rubber strap options, black, white, and vibrant orange are available, all secured by a titanium pin buckle.
Crafted from Grade 23 titanium, the 45mm case measures 14.1mm in thickness. The watch retains key design elements from earlier Tech models, including a domed sapphire bezel set with black ceramic inserts and a 60-minute scale. A screw-down crown positioned at 3 o’clock, along with a sapphire caseback, ensures water resistance to 300 meters.
The dial features an "absolute black" surface engineered to absorb up to 97% of ambient light, enhancing legibility during low-visibility dives. The markers combine Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock with triangular hour markers, all coated in Super-LumiNova. The sword-shaped hands remain unchanged, except for the orange seconds hand, which matches the "TECH" inscription on the dial. A discreet date display appears at 4:30, with the date disc color-matched to the dial for a seamless look.
Powered by the same movement found in the previous 42 or 38 mm editions. the high-performance calibre 1315. This in-house movement features three series-coupled barrels, providing a robust 120-hour power reserve.
Operating at 4Hz, it includes an antimagnetic silicon hairspring and a stop-seconds mechanism. The intricately decorated movement showcases snailed bridges, polished chamfers, and an 18k gold rotor coated with NAC, inspired by the rotor design of historical 1950s timepieces.
Notably, the Fifty Fathoms Tech 45mm introduces a quick-change strap system, a first for the entire Fifty Fathoms collection. The tool-free mechanism allows seamless strap changes, underscoring the watch’s practical and adaptable design.
The new Fifty Fathoms Tech 45mm is now available as a permanent addition to Blancpain’s collection, priced at CHF 19,000 (approximately 87,500 AED).
