Evolving the ultra-thin tourbillon watch with modern elegance
Bianchet is a young Swiss watchmaker that stands at the intersection of art, architecture, and mechanical performance. In a short span, Bianchet has carved its place in the market with its distinctive tonneau-shaped cases and modern designs, earning the brand the title of the world’s thinnest sapphire tourbillon watch.
At WatchTime New York 2025, Bianchet made its North American debut with the introduction of the UltraFino Gold Edition, an evolution of its acclaimed UltraFino collection. The new model transforms the brand’s ultra-thin tourbillon concept into a radiant creation, enveloping its architectural lines in an 18K rose gold case.
The watch is presented in a case measuring 40 mm in width, 47.5 mm in length, and 8.9 mm in thickness. Sapphire crystals on both sides offer a clear view of the intricate movement within, while the watch provides a water resistance of 50 meters.
The openworked dial reveals the depth of the calibre with its black PVD-treated titanium structure. It features rose gold hands and hour markers that rise above the dark surface, complemented by the flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the in-house automatic Calibre UT01, an ultra-thin flying tourbillon measuring only 3.85 mm thick and weighing just eight grams. Despite its lightness, the movement resists shocks up to 5,000 Gs. It is equipped with an 18K gold rotor shaped into twelve Fibonacci spirals, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz), and delivers a 60-hour power reserve.
The UltraFino Gold Edition is available in two versions. The first pairs the rose-gold case with an integrated gold bracelet and includes an additional black rubber strap for versatility. The second configuration comes with a black rubber strap secured by a matching gold pin buckle.
The watch is priced at USD 135,800 (approximately AED 499,000) for the version with the integrated gold bracelet, and USD 98,500 (approximately AED 361,800) for the model on rubber.
