A new limited diver’s watch with a stylish black patterned dial
Bernhard H. Mayer, a talented metal engraver, founded his namesake company in 1871 in Pforzheim, Germany. Despite facing numerous challenges and historical events that significantly impacted the brand, it has evolved over time from a family-run business specializing in precious metals to a watchmaker now based in Bienne, Switzerland. In its most recent release, the brand unveils its new diver watch, the Wave Rider.
The watch features a 316L stainless steel case with a combination of brushed and polished finishes, complemented by a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert. It has a 42mm diameter and a thickness of 13mm, and a sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective coating protecting the dial. Additionally, the screw-down crown and screw-down case back with a sapphire crystal ensure 500m of water resistance.
The black dial features a stylish grid pattern with white printed numbers marking the five-minute intervals. The hands and indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure visibility in low-light conditions, and you can spot the date window at 3 o’clock. Additionally, the dial includes the printed text "Officially Certified Chronometer" beneath the name of the timepiece, "Wave Rider."

The watch is powered by the Sellita SW-300 caliber, an automatic COSC-certified movement with a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and a 42-hour power reserve. It comes with a steel bracelet featuring a folding clasp, along with an additional black rubber strap with a pin buckle. This timepiece is limited to 599 pieces, and priced at USD 3,800, equivalent to AED 14,000.
