The iconic dive watch returns with its classic 1960s-inspired design
First launched during the golden age of scuba diving in the 1960s, the Benrus Ultra-Deep makes its long-awaited return, revived by popular demand. Cherished by vintage watch collectors and diving enthusiasts alike, the Ultra-Deep remains one of the most distinctive and beloved models in the Benrus archive.
This reissue is not part of the brand’s 2025 collection but rather a special reintroduction of a historic reference, brought back due to overwhelming community demand. Staying true to its origins, the new Ultra-Deep captures the adventurous spirit of mid-century underwater exploration while subtly integrating modern engineering for enhanced reliability. Every detail has been carefully refined to preserve the character of the original.
The revived Ultra-Deep retains its iconic twin-crown case inspired by the original Supercompressor design, a hallmark of vintage dive watches celebrated for their elegant yet purposeful construction. Measuring a compact and versatile 36.5 mm, the new edition remains faithful to its original proportions while introducing a modern screw-down crown system that ensures an impressive 200 meters of water resistance.
As a nod to vintage craftsmanship, the watch features an acrylic double-domed glass with an internal date magnifier, a subtle detail that evokes the charm of the original design.
The black dial flows seamlessly into a 60-minute internal rotating bezel, operated via the second crown at 4 o’clock. Extending from edge to edge, the bezel enhances legibility and creates the illusion of a larger wrist presence while maintaining its authentic vintage aesthetic. The dial preserves the original’s cathedral-style hour and minute hands, while C3 Super-LumiNova illuminates the markers, hands, and bezel for optimal visibility in low-light conditions.
Inside, the watch is powered by the Swiss-made Soprod P024 automatic movement, offering a 38-hour power reserve and a quick-set date function. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it also features a shock absorber for the balance wheel, ensuring durability and precision.
The Ultra-Deep is delivered on a stainless steel Jubilee-style bracelet equipped with a quick-release system, and it also includes a complimentary blue nylon NATO dive strap.
The Benrus Ultra-Deep is priced at USD 1,195, equivalent to approximately AED 4,390.
