Inspired by a field watch issued to U.S. troops during the Vietnam War
Benrus is an American brand that dates back to 1921 and has built a reputation for producing reliable, rugged watches for everyday use. By the 1950s, it was selling over a million watches annually. After a quiet period during the quartz crises, the brand began a steady revival in 2017 under a passionate leadership team. Today, Benrus is staging a full-scale comeback with reissues of military legends and modern reinterpretations like the Type 1 MilSpec and 3061 GT. Among its most revered timepieces is the DTU-2A/P, a field watch originally issued to U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.
This year, the brand revives the DTU-2A/P with a 34mm sandblasted stainless steel case, now upgraded with a double-domed sapphire crystal featuring dual anti-reflective coatings. The case measures 10.9mm in thickness with a lug-to-lug span of 40.2mm. A standout feature is the oversized screw-down crown, which boosts water resistance to a practical 100 meters. The steel caseback is engraved with the official MIL-W-3818B military specification.
The matte black dial is free of branding or extraneous text, just 12 bold Arabic numerals, a 24-hour inner scale, and a detailed minute/seconds track, all ringed by triangular markers with a subtle faux patina. Super-LumiNova is generously applied to both the dial and hands, ensuring excellent legibility in all lighting conditions.

Powering the watch is the Swiss-made ETA 2671, an automatic caliber operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 38-hour power reserve. The watch comes with two strap options: a brown leather bund strap and a green NATO strap, both paired with a steel pin buckle. It is priced at CHF 892, approximately AED 4,100.
