Introducing Bell & Ross Unveils the BR-03 Diver Lum Outline

A limited edition with black aesthetics and a bold dial

Bell & Ross has long been fascinated by extremes, whether in altitude or depth. Since setting a still-unmatched record in 1997 with the Hydromax (11,100 metres of water resistance), the brand has built a reputation for technical timepieces designed with and for professionals. The new BR-03 Diver Lum Outline continues this tradition with a focused, minimalist approach to light, illuminating only the essential contours.

Part of a lineage that began with the BR 03-92 Horolum in 2017, the Diver Lum Outline refines the concept introduced with the Full Lum. This time, instead of bathing the entire dial in Super-LumiNova, Bell & Ross opts to trace only the outlines of the indices and skeletonised hands in luminescence. The effect is graphic, architectural, and modern. It’s a nod to the “Less is More” ethos of Mies van der Rohe, a favourite of Bell & Ross co-founder and creative director Bruno Belamich.

The BR-03 Diver Lum Outline is housed in a 42 mm microblasted (sandblasted on a micro level) black ceramic case, with a thickness of 11.2 mm. As a certified diver’s watch under ISO 6425, it features a screw-down crown, a unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel with a 60-minute scale, and 300 metres of water resistance, all essential specifications for underwater reliability. The bezel markings are filled with Super-LumiNova X2, glowing green in low-light environments.

The black dial is where the watch makes its boldest statement. It features baignoire-style applied indices and skeletonised hour and minute hands, all outlined with Super-LumiNova X2, and a small date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. The arrow-shaped hour hand and the seconds hand both feature green tips.

The watch is powered by the BR-CAL.302-1, an automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 54-hour power reserve. Bell & Ross includes two straps, one in black rubber and one in ultra-resistant black synthetic fabric. Both are secured with a black steel microblasted PVD pin buckle, maintaining the all-black aesthetic. The watch is limited to 500 pieces and is priced at CHF 5,100, approximately AED 22,700.
