A More Luxurious Interpretation of the Qatari Brand’s Best-Selling Timepiece
At the end of last year, Beda’a unveiled its first mechanical addition to the Angles collection, a bold challenge for the Qatari brand, which sought to maintain the same slim profile as its quartz edition. The brand succeeded, even launching a special edition for Italy. Now, Beda’a introduces a more luxurious interpretation: a diamond-set version. The Angles collection has become one of the key pillars of Beda’a’s growth.
Keeping the same case design as the previous Mecaline editions, the watch features an octagonal bezel set on an angled case middle, with stepped layers refined through a delicate interplay of finishes. The stainless steel case measures 37 mm x 34 mm and maintains an impressive thickness of just 6 mm.
Achieving this delicate balance required subtle refinements: a slimmer bezel, dial, and crystal, along with a solid caseback to avoid the additional thickness of a sapphire exhibition back. “And a new crown,” notes Sohaib Maghnam. “Because the Angles Mecaline is hand-wound, the crown had to be redesigned to ensure perfect handling in everyday use.” In this new edition, the bezel and lugs are now set with 1.1 carats of diamonds.
Presented in two colors Deep Black and Warm Gray, the watch remains true to the refined minimalism of the original Angles, dispensing with hour markers. The dial features a small seconds display at 6 o’clock in a sector-style design, with either a semi-matte sunray or circular finish (depending on the model) set against a glossy base. This small seconds display also serves to visually distinguish the mechanical model from its quartz counterpart.
Powering the Angles Mecaline is the ETA 7001 caliber, marking Beda’a’s first use of a mechanical movement. Known for its reliability and ease of maintenance, this hand-wound movement delivers a 42-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The brand notes that the chosen movement was selected for its reliability and cost-effectiveness throughout the entire lifecycle of the watch.

Both versions are fitted with leather straps, brown for the grey dial and black for the black dial, secured with a stainless steel pin buckle.
The Angles Mecaline Diamond Edition is priced at CHF 4,150 which is equivalent approximately to AED 20,500, and produced in limited numbers, with only a few pieces crafted each year.
