A fusion of floating mechanics and deep green malachite in two limited editions
Arnold & Son has always been deeply connected to its British watchmaking heritage, drawing inspiration from the technical spirit of its founder John Arnold and the precision instruments crafted under his name in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The brand has built a reputation for mechanical creativity and advanced movement design. This identity reaches one of its most expressive forms in the Time Pyramid collection, which was released in 2013 and inspired by an ornamental precision regulator clock created in the 1830s by John Roger Arnold. The collection stands out for its linear gear train and the impression of a movement suspended in space.
Today, Arnold & Son introduces the Time Pyramid 42.5 Malachite Editions. These new pieces bring together the signature floating movement architecture with the deep green beauty of malachite in either a red gold or a platinum case.

The watch is presented in a 42.5 mm case made from either 18 carat 5N red gold or platinum 950. The profile measures 10.72 mm in thickness, and the thin bezel allows a generous view of the movement beneath the domed sapphire crystal. The crystal has an anti reflective coating on both sides, which helps reveal the full depth of the architecture. The design positions the crown between the lugs at 6 o’clock, a distinctive choice that supports the symmetry of the calibre and keeps the case outline clean. The caseback of the watch features a disc of malachite and offers water resistance of 30 metres.
Rather than a traditional dial, the watch displays its mechanics openly. At the centre is a white opal hours dial, while the rest of the visual composition is shaped by the structure of the movement itself. The functions include hours, minutes and seconds, along with two power reserve indicators. These indicators sit on opposite sides of the gear train and show how one barrel transfers energy to the other as the watch unwinds.
The watch is powered by the hand wound calibre A and S 1615. The gear train runs in a straight line from the twin barrels at 6 o’clock to the regulating organ at 12 o’clock, where a classical balance beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The two barrels deliver a remarkable 90 hour power reserve.
The main plate and bridges are treated with NAC black coating and decorated with satin finishing, hand chamfering and vertical Côtes de Genève. The wheels have a golden tone with circular satin finishing, while the screws are blued, chamfered and polished to a mirror shine.

The watch comes on a hand stitched imperial green alligator leather strap with a buckle that matches the case metal. Each version is limited to 8 pieces and the price for the red gold model is CHF 45,300, approximately AED 207,300. The platinum model is priced at CHF 57,200, approximately AED 261,700.
