A Modern Interpretation of Precision with the Brand’s Latest Resonance Mechanism
With its latest creation, Armin Strom once again bridges horological heritage and modern innovation. The new Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist stands as a tribute to the great watchmakers who, for centuries, pursued the elusive phenomenon of resonance. This new iteration revisits the concept first explored in 2021, when the Zeitgeist debuted in platinum to mark the fifth anniversary of Armin Strom’s patented resonance system.

By reimagining how a resonance wristwatch might have appeared had it been mastered centuries ago, Armin Strom celebrates both history and progress. The story of resonance at Armin Strom began in 2016, when Claude Greisler, inspired by Antide Janvier’s 18th-century Resonance Clock, achieved a breakthrough with a wristwatch capable of maintaining synchronization with remarkable resistance to disruption, an innovation later certified by the Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique (CSEM).
The watch is housed in a 43 mm stainless steel case, retaining the same dimensions and design as previous editions offered in rose gold and steel. It features sapphire crystal on both the front and caseback, each treated with anti-reflective coating to ensure optimal legibility and a clear view of the beautifully finished movement. With a thickness of 11.55 mm and a water resistance of 30 meters, the case combines robust construction with refined proportions.
The dial is more open-worked than in previous editions. It features an off-center subdial for the time display at 3 o’clock, which is skeletonized. The minutes and seconds tracks are crafted from white gold, coated with white varnish, and accented by black indices. The blued steel hands provide a striking contrast against the golden hue of the movement’s bridges and main plate, which are treated with CVD coating.
Positioned on the left side of the dial, the resonance mechanism takes center stage: two balance wheels oscillating in opposite directions, connected by Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch spring. Two synchronized second counters provide a visual confirmation of the balances working in unison.
At the heart of the watch is the manually wound Caliber ARF21. This movement synchronizes two independent oscillators, each equipped with its own balance wheel and hairspring, via the brand’s patented clutch spring. This mechanism enhances precision and chronometric stability, a feature clearly visible through the twin seconds counters. A pusher at 2 o’clock resets the counters, allowing the wearer to witness the synchronization process in real time, proof of the resonance mechanism’s functionality.
Beating at a frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), and Thanks to the two-barrel system, it delivers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The reverse side reveals a beautifully finished movement through the sapphire crystal caseback, with various decorative techniques on display. Each watch is meticulously assembled twice to ensure both mechanical accuracy and exceptional finishing.
The Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 comes fitted with a dark grey Alcantara strap featuring grey stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle. This limited edition of 25 pieces is priced at CHF 82,000, equivalent to approximately AED 379,600.
