In Carbon for the First Time: Anthracite CarbonGold Elegance
In 2014, the Octo Finissimo collection was introduced, blending unique designs with exceptional craftsmanship. Available in various models, these timepieces are distinguished by their extraordinarily thin and sleek aesthetics. The collection has set new standards in ultra-thin watchmaking, boasting record-setting pieces like the Octo Finissimo Ultra, which measures just 1.80mm in thickness.
To date, the Octo Finissimo collection has secured a total of eight world records, featuring a fascinating blend of materials such as titanium, platinum, rose and yellow gold, ceramic, and tantalum. Now, Bvlgari is adding two new watches to the collection, featuring anthracite carbon adorned with the luminous brilliance of gold.

Compared to the previous Titanium version of the Octo Finissimo Automatic, the new "CarbonGold Automatic" version retains the same 40mm diameter. However, it sports a slightly thicker case, measuring at 6.90mm. The watch offers 100 meters of water resistance and features a polished rose gold crown with a black ceramic insert.
Beneath its sapphire crystal, the new carbon dial is revealed, adorned with rose gold hands and indices. It displays two Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, alongside a small seconds counter at 7 o'clock.
The heart of the watch houses the in-house Caliber BVL 138, an ultra-thin, self-winding movement with a platinum micro-rotor. The movement measures a mere 2.23mm in thickness, making it one of the industry's thinnest automatic movements. This movement has been pivotal in achieving multiple world records for thinness within the Octo Finissimo series. The watch is accompanied by a carbon bracelet with a 3-blade folding buckle. With a price of EUR 29,000 which is equivalent to AED 118,000.
On the other hand, Bvlgari introduces the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar, another timepiece featuring CarbonGold. With a thickness of just 5.80mm in its Titanium version, this watch holds the distinction of being the thinnest perpetual calendar watch ever created. The 40mm carbon case is similar to the new CarbonGold automatic model and features a polished rose gold crown with a black ceramic insert. The case measures 7.60mm in height and offers water resistance up to 30 meters.
The carbon dial is adorned with rose gold hands and indices, and displays central hours and minutes, a retrograde date display in the upper half, a day-of-the-week indicator between 7 and 8 o'clock, a month indicator between 4 and 5 o'clock, and a leap year indicator at 6 o'clock.
The Caliber BVL 305, a marvel of Bvlgari engineering, powers the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar. With a thickness of just 2.75mm, it supports functions such as hours, minutes, retrograde date, day, month, and leap year, while providing a 60-hour power reserve. The watch also features a carbon bracelet with a folding clasp in steel, finished with DLC coating.
Both watches will be showcased at the Maison's creative innovations event during the Geneva Watch Days 2023, where the timepieces will be unveiled to the event visitors.
