The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Angelus Unveils the New Chronographe Télemètre Collection

Three Compact 37mm Monopusher Chronographs

Angelus has long stood at the forefront of horological innovation, with a history that includes groundbreaking achievements such as the introduction of the world’s first chronograph with a calendar in 1942. In 1958, the brand also made waves with the launch of the first waterproof automatic repeater. Among the notable innovations is the “La Fabrique Inextremo du Vitesse Monopusher Chronograph”, a remarkable timepiece that exemplified Angelus' commitment to combining technical complexity with striking design.

Today, as the watch world gathers at Watches & Wonders, Angelus continues its legacy with the unveiling of three new "Chronographe Télemètre" watches. These timepieces not only retain the core principles of precision and elegance that have defined the brand, but also introduce additional chronograph functions. Available in various colors and materials, these new releases mark an exciting new chapter for Angelus.

The new Chronographe Télemètre models from Angelus are available in two stunning case materials: 18-carat yellow gold and stainless steel, each offering a unique aesthetic and timeless appeal. With a compact diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of just 9.25 mm, these timepieces are the smallest contemporary models in Angelus' collection, offering a perfect balance of elegance and functionality.

The case middle features distinctive curves that flow seamlessly from lug to lug, accentuating the polished edges and intricate twists on the flanks, enhancing the dynamic form of the lugs. Additionally, the timepieces are equipped with a sapphire crystal box on both the front and back, each treated with an anti-reflective coating to ensure crystal-clear visibility from any angle, and it offers water-resistant up to 30 meters.

The Chronographe Télemètre features three distinct dial colors, each offering a unique aesthetic to complement the timepiece's luxurious materials. The dials are available in a rose-bronze hue, titanium grey for the stainless steel models, or a white nickel-inspired finish for the yellow gold model. Each dial is domed with a stamped, grained center and a satin-finished flange that mirrors the case's finish, creating a seamless, harmonious design. A delicate diamond-polished border separates the grained center from the satin flange, while the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock counters are snailed for a refined texture. The dial’s numerals and hour indices come in either 3N gold or black rhodium finishes, adding a touch of sophistication.

The watch also showcases its telemeter scale, a specialty of Angelus, which allows users to measure the distance of an event by timing the interval between seeing and hearing it, with the scale finely graduated in kilometers. Surrounding the numerals is a black printed minute track, ensuring easy readability of the time. The hour and minute hands are coated with a luminous material, enhancing legibility in low-light conditions.

The watches are powered by the Calibre A5000, a crafted manual-winding mechanical movement, featuring a power reserve of 42 hours. This movement showcases a two-tone finish, where the mainplate and bridges are beautifully finished in 3N gold, while the chronograph components are treated with palladium, reflecting the brand’s commitment to precision and aesthetics. operated at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz), the regulating group ensures accurate timekeeping.

The chronograph function is controlled by a column wheel with a horizontal clutch, a signature feature of chronographs produced from the 1940s to the early 1970s, reaffirming the brand's dedication to heritage and craftsmanship. The movement’s finishes are equally impressive, with the mainplate featuring a circular grain, while the bridges are adorned with Côtes de Genève and chamfered edges, and the screws are polished.

The Chronographe Télemètre comes with a calfskin leather strap available in three striking colors, steel blue, or anthracite grey, or sage green. Each strap is paired with a matching pin buckle in either 18-carat yellow gold (3N) or stainless steel. The limited edition models are produced in small quantities, with only 15 pieces available in gold and 25 pieces in steel for each color variant. The Swiss retail price for the gold version is CHF 32,300 approximately AED 134,500, while the steel model is priced at CHF 17,900 approximately AED 74,550.
