A Professional Diving Watch in Two New Dial Options
Since its inception in the late 1960s, the Alpina Seastrong collection has stood as a benchmark for purpose-built dive watches within the Swiss watchmaking landscape. Originally introduced to meet the demands of professional and recreational divers, Seastrong models have consistently embodied technical reliability, high water resistance, and robust case construction. The early Seastrong Diver 10, introduced in 1969, was one of the first Alpina timepieces rated for 200 meters of water resistance, a significant achievement for its time.
During the Geneva Watch Days 2025 exhibition, Alpina announced the latest addition to this storied collection, the “Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic”, offered in two distinct dial color options.
This diving watch features a robust brushed and polished stainless steel case paired with a matte black ceramic bezel, delivering both durability and a sleek, modern aesthetic. Designed for serious underwater performance, it boasts a screw-down crown and water resistance up to 300 metres. The case measures 39x40.50mm with a 12mm thickness, offering a balanced fit on the wrist. A solid screw-in caseback engraved with the brand logo ensures structural integrity, while the sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating enhances legibility in challenging lighting conditions.
The watch is offered with two distinct dial options, each showcasing a vintage-inspired aesthetic enhanced by modern detailing. One version features a unique green grain-textured dial with a sandblasted finish, while the other comes in classic black with a similar sandblasted texture both complemented by 'old radium' Super-LumiNova markers that evoke a warm, retro glow. Applied silver-coloured indices and hand-polished silver hands are also filled with the same luminous material for optimal legibility in low light.
A luminous triangle at 12 o’clock and a date window at 6 o’clock accented with a luminous marker just below add symmetry and functionality. The red triangle counterweight on the second hand injects a subtle pop of colour, lending character and personality to the overall design.
The watch is powered by the AL-525 calibre automatic movement, based on the proven SW200 caliber. Operating at a high frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it ensures precise timekeeping and smooth hand motion, while offering a power reserve of 38 hours.
