A limited edition with a cream dial inspired by 1940s pilot chronographs
Albishorn is a young independent Swiss brand founded by Sébastien Chaulmontet, whose background includes key roles in the revival of historic brands such as Arnold & Son and Angelus, as well as leadership positions as Director of Innovation and Marketing at Sellita. Albishorn is built around a distinctive concept it calls Imaginary Vintage, creating watches that never existed but plausibly could have, filling hypothetical gaps in watchmaking history.

This philosophy shapes Albishorn’s chronograph lineup, particularly the Type 10 collection. Conceived as an imagined predecessor to the legendary French military Type 20, the Type 10 explores what a pilot chronograph from the late 1940s might have looked like before the official specifications of the early 1950s were established. This year, the brand launches the Type 10 Officer, representing the latest evolution of this idea and distinguished by its light cream dial and bold character.

The watch features a stainless steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter with a thickness of 12 mm, including the domed box sapphire crystal. The case construction combines brushed surfaces with polished bevels. A distinctive design element is the bidirectional rotating bezel crafted from DLC-coated stainless steel. Measuring 41.7 mm in diameter, it carries a fully graduated 60-minute scale with lacquered numerals and luminous markers. The solid stainless steel caseback is screwed down, reinforcing the watch’s instrument-like nature. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
The cream dial gives the watch a strong vintage-inspired presence while maintaining excellent legibility. Large Arabic numerals are rendered in black and coated with Super-LumiNova, creating clear contrast against the light background. The hands follow the same functional logic, finished in black and filled with beige luminous material.
Chronograph indications are displayed through an unconventional layout, with the small seconds positioned at 4:30 and the 30-minute counter at 7:30. At 12 o’clock, a patented chronograph operating indicator provides visual confirmation of the chronograph’s status.
Powering the Type 10 Officer is the proprietary calibre ALB02 M, a manually wound monopusher chronograph movement. It is chronometer certified by COSC, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and offers a power reserve of 65 hours. Despite its robust construction, the calibre measures just 5.70 mm in height, allowing the watch to maintain relatively slim proportions. The monopusher system controls the start, stop, and reset functions through a single red anodized aluminum pusher positioned on the left side of the case.
