An Exclusive Limited Edition in Collaboration with Ulysse Nardin to Celebrate This Revolutionary Masterpiece
Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the Middle East’s premier luxury watch retailer, continues to captivate enthusiasts with its remarkable collaborations. This time, they have joined forces with the iconic Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin to present a very special creation: the Freak X Enamel Seddiqi. This 30-piece limited edition honors the partnership with Ulysse Nardin, known for pushing the boundaries of haute horlogerie at the dawn of the new millennium with its groundbreaking Freak collection.
The exclusive Freak X Enamel Seddiqi revives the signature ‘no hands, no dial’ architecture that made the Freak a legend, enhancing it with a stunning guilloché and enamelled hour disc—a tribute to Ulysse Nardin’s craftsmanship in métiers d’art. Adorned in a vibrant “Yas Blue” enamel, the hour disc mirrors the electrifying blue of the evening sky over the Arabian Gulf, a mesmerizing touch realized by skilled artisans at Ulysse Nardin’s Donzé Cadrans Manufacture in Le Locle.
The watch features a 43 mm grey titanium case with a matching bezel and a crown positioned at the 3 o'clock mark. The case’s thickness ranges from 11 mm up to 13.78 mm, reinforced with sapphire crystal on both sides for robust protection, further underscoring the watch’s dedication to durability and style.
The famous design element in the freak collection is the dial, simply because there is no dial. Taking the place of a dial is a rotating blue enameled barrel cover, and it features a prominent guilloché pattern engraved on its surface. The barrel cover rotates once every 12 hours, and it is fitted with a V-shaped indicator filled with Super-LumiNova that allows the disc to function as an hour hand by pointing out the current hour against the chapter ring located along the periphery of the display.
Similarly, the balance wheel, escapement, and gear train aren’t buried within the movement but rather reside on a large bridge that sits above the hour's disc and functions as a minute hand, making one full rotation once every hour, the minute bridge also functions as an orbital 60-minute tourbillon. Additionally, the hour and minute indicators and hour markers are coated with white Super-LumiNova.
Powering the Ulysse Nardin Freak Enamel Seddiqi is the manufactured Caliber UN-230 automatic movement. Consisting of 206 components, it runs at a frequency of 21,600bph (3 Hz) while offering users a power reserve of 72 hours. In addition to displaying the hours and minutes, the Caiber. UN-230 also technically offers a 60-minute tourbillon due to the fact that the movement features a flying carousel design that rotates along its own axis.
The Freak X Enamel Seddiqi is paired with a black ballistic-style rubber strap and secured by a titanium folding buckle, available as a limited edition of just 30 pieces, priced at 154,000 AED.
