A smaller, more elegant iteration of the iconic collection with a new caliber
A. Lange & Söhne was founded by German watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange in 1845, laying the foundation for Saxony's precision watchmaking industry. Despite a period of expropriation after WWII, Walter Lange, Ferdinand’s great-grandson, revived the brand in 1990. Today, Lange is renowned for producing a limited number of elaborately hand-finished timepieces, with movements crafted entirely in-house. The 1815 collection is one of the brand’s most iconic lines, paying homage to its rich heritage, as it is named after the birth year of its founder.
During its participation in Watches & Wonders 2025, the brand is expanding the 1815 collection with two releases in 750 white or pink gold that beautifully bridge the gap between tradition and modernity.

With a diameter of 34mm and a slender 6.4mm thickness, the 1815 caters to the modern trend of smaller watches, appealing to those seeking an ideal daily or formal timepiece. The slightly tiered bezel accentuates its classic profile, reminiscent of Lange’s historic pocket watches. Both the dial and caseback are protected by sapphire crystal.
The dial is set against a rich blue background, with a railway-track minute scale and Arabic numerals evoking Lange's iconic pocket watch designs. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o'clock, while the lancet-shaped hands, crafted in 750 gold, enhance its classic character.
Powering the 1815 is the newly developed manually wound manufacture calibre L152.1, marking the 75th calibre since the brand's revival. This movement comprises 171 parts and incorporates a superior-quality balance spring manufactured in-house, oscillating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The caliber measures 2.9mm in thickness and delivers a 72-hour power reserve.
The white-gold model is paired with a hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap, while the pink-gold version features a warm reddish-brown strap. Both are secured with a polished prong buckle matching the respective case material. The watches join the brand’s permanent collection, with prices still upon request.
