Introducing A. Lange & Söhne Introduces Two New Saxonia Thin Models

A. Lange & Söhne presents two new editions of the Saxonia Thin, each limited to only 200 pieces. With a design reduced to the essentials and an ultra-slim, hand-finished movement decorated to the highest standards, the Saxonia Thin embodies pure elegance. The new special editions are offered in the brand’s exclusive 750 Honeygold alloy or in 950 platinum, paired with a glossy black onyx dial.

The Saxonia collection holds a special place in the history of the German manufacture, as it was one of the first four watches introduced when Lange was relaunched in 1994. The Saxonia Thin itself first appeared in 2011 as a new generation of the line, and now returns with newly crafted cases and a striking dial design.

The watch features a simple round case with a slim bezel, ensuring all attention remains on the dial. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and only 6.2 mm in thickness, the case is made possible by its ultra-thin movement. It is protected by sapphire crystal on both sides, with brushed case flanks and a polished bezel and lugs. The crown is embossed with the A. Lange & Söhne signature.

The onyx dial lends the new editions a particularly noble character. Rarely used in precision watchmaking, this gemstone fascinates with its jet-black, glossy surface, mounted on a solid silver base. 

The deep black hue provides a striking contrast for the applied indices and hands. On the Honeygold edition, the markers and hands are crafted in gold, while in the platinum version they receive a rhodium-plated finish to harmonize with the silvery tones of the case.

Inside beats the manually wound calibre L093.1, the same movement used in previous editions of the collection. Produced in the brand’s German workshops, it is meticulously decorated and hand-assembled to Lange’s highest standards, and can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. Despite its ultra-slim height of just 2.9 mm, it incorporates a flat mainspring barrel and delivers a power reserve of 72 hours.

The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin is offered in Honeygold and platinum, each limited to 200 pieces. Prices is around €45,000, which is equivalent to approximately AED 194,000.
