Gerald Charles Unveils Its Most Complex Timepiece, The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar

Gerald Charles, the independent Swiss watchmaking Maison founded by the great Mr. Gérald Charles Genta, unveils its most complicated watch since its reestablishment less than a decade ago. The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, developed entirely in-house, marks a new chapter for the young and ambitious Maison as it continues to expand its repertoire of poetic complications.

In keeping with Gerald Charles’s “No Compromise” watchmaking philosophy, established by Mr. Genta more than a quarter of a century ago, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar introduces an in-house, asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar calibre with a three-counter display.

Founded by SYLVAIN BERNERON, Trained in fine arts & industrial design, Sylvain was scouted by BMW, where he began his career as a working student at the age of 19, before spending several years there as a designer.

After spending 5 years at the Richemont Group as a design manager, then an other 5 as Chief Product Officer at Breitling, he came to realize that he needed more creative freedom. The kind of freedom that simply can’t be given in a large corporate structure. September 2022 is the turning point where he decides to create the company Berneron SA.

Academy Member of the GPHG since 2023, Sylvain continues to develop technical and industrial knowledge, playing an active role in the watchmaking industry as well as in collectors community.
