Rotor (central rotor) or oscillating weight

It is the semi-circular weight also known as the oscillating weight, usually made of gold or platinum. It is attached to the center of the watch movement and partially covers the movement. It is associated with automatic self-winding mechanisms and rotates with the movement of the wearer's wrist. The rotor continuously winds the main spring, ensuring the watch operates without the need for manual winding or hand winding. The rotor can rotate in one direction or bidirectionally. It is typically installed in the back of the watch and is often visible through the transparent case back.
