A self-contained unit or component that performs specific functions within a watch movement. A watch movement can consist of multiple modules, each responsible for a particular feature or complication. These modules are designed and manufactured separately, and they can be added or removed from the base movement to enhance its functionality.

Modules can include additional complications such as chronographs, calendars, moon phases, or other specialized features. They are often integrated into the movement through a system of gears, levers, and cams, allowing the watch to display and operate these additional functions.

The use of modules in watches offers flexibility in design and allows watchmakers to create timepieces with various complications without having to modify the entire movement. It also enables watch enthusiasts to personalize their watches by adding or replacing modules to suit their preferences or needs.
