Roger W. Smith is a British watchmaker who specializes in creating handmade, high-end watches. He was trained by the famous watchmaker George Daniels, who is known for creating the co-axial escapement, which is now used in many high-end watches.
Roger Smith started his own workshop in the Isle of Man in 2001, and has since been creating unique and exquisite timepieces that are highly sought after by collectors. He is one of the very few watchmakers in the world who is capable of creating an entire watch from start to finish by hand, including the dial, case, and movement.
Smith's watches are made using traditional watchmaking techniques, and feature hand-finished movements that are made using only the finest materials. Each watch takes several months to complete, and is a true work of art.
Some of Roger Smith's most notable watches include the Series 2, which features a unique hand-wound movement and a beautifully finished dial, and the Great Britain Watch, which was commissioned by the British government to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.
Roger Smith's watches are highly coveted by collectors, and are considered to be some of the finest handmade watches in the world. They are known for their exquisite craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exceptional quality, and are a testament to the artistry and skill of traditional watchmaking.
