Two new additions to Piaget’s luxury sport collection
The 1970s witnessed the emergence of various styles and trends, including luxury sports watches. This period marked a shift in the perception of luxury style, leading to the establishment of new standards in watchmaking. In that era, Piaget distinguished itself by unveiling an outstanding luxury sports timepiece. The Piaget Polo showcased the integration of the case, dial, and bracelet, setting a new standard in watch craftsmanship. To celebrate Piaget’s 150th anniversary, the brand heralded the reintroduction of the Piaget Polo this year. This latest rendition of the iconic timepiece comes in a revamped 38 mm round case, now christened as Piaget Polo 79. Alongside that, attention is drawn to the introduction of two new iterations of the Piaget Polo Date for Watches and Wonders 2024.
Each limited to 300 pieces. One boasts a 42 mm dimension, while its counterpart measures 36 mm and is adorned with 91 brilliant-cut diamonds. These new releases serve as a bridge between the original Piaget Polo model and the recent acclaim of the Piaget Polo Date with a rubber strap.

The Piaget Polo Date comes in either 42 mm with a thickness of 9.4 mm or 36 mm with an 8.8 mm thickness, adorned with a bezel set with diamonds. Both sizes feature a stainless steel case with polished and brushed finishes, and both watches are equipped with a sapphire crystal on the top and the case back.
These watches pay tribute to the beloved couples' offerings envisioned by Yves Piaget, one of the most famous garden roses ever, who continuously explored new His & Hers iterations of the Piaget Polo. The 36mm model is designed to be worn by both women and men, reflecting the versatility embraced in today's world. While these two versions of the Piaget Polo epitomize contemporary watchmaking, they differ in strap color, size, and gem settings, yet share the same date window at 6 o'clock and hands. Both models feature rose gold-colored hands, with the second hand counter weight engraved with "150", adding a unique charm to this collector's edition timepiece to commemorate the Maison's 150th anniversary.

The 42 mm variant is powered by the in-house 1110P automatic caliber, offering 50 hours of power reserve and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). However, the 36 mm variant is powered by the in-house 500P1 automatic caliber, which operates at the same frequency as the 1110P caliber but offers 40 hours of power reserve. Both watches come with a brown or beige rubber strap, with an interchangeable bracelet, and this marks the debut of the 36 mm version with a rubber strap, previously only available with a metal bracelet or leather strap. The price of the 42 mm version is AED 55,500, and AED 82,000 for the 36 mm version.
