Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A slimmer case, new colors in two different sizes
The inception of the Portugieser traces back to the late 1930s, during which IWC Schaffhausen utilized a highly precise pocket watch movement to craft a notably large wristwatch boasting chronometer accuracy. Till now the Portugieser collection remains one of the iconic releases from the brand, and last year we have seen an array of releases including the “Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph Lewis Hamilton”, and a new look for the “Portugieser Chronograph”.
During Watches And Wonders 2024, IWC is releasing the Portugieser Automatic 42 and the Portugieser Automatic 40, both showcasing refined case constructions with slim side profiles. They feature double box sapphire crystal on both the front and case back, providing an enhanced perspective of the new dials.

The Portugieser Automatic 42 variant comes in 6 different references, two of them feature a 18k white or 5N gold case, and the other three in stainless steel, and all share a diameter of 42.4 mm and a thickness of 13mm. The white gold variant showcases a beautiful Horizon blue dial with rhodium-plated hands and indices, while the 5N gold variant showcases an obsidian dial which has gold-plated hands and gold indices. The dial features a power reserve indicator positioned at 3 o'clock, the date window at 6 o’clock, and the small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock.

The steel variants offer 4 references, one of which showcases a dune-colored dial, gold-plated hands, and gold indices, while the other two come with silver-plated dials. However, one has gold-plated hands and indices, while the other features blue hands and indices, and last one features a blue dial with a stainless steel bracelet.

The brass dial features a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.

The Portugieser Automatic 42 is driven by the in-house caliber 52011, an automatic movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and comprising 31 jewels, delivering a power reserve of 7 days (168 hours). On the other hand, the Portugieser Automatic 40 is equipped with the in-house caliber 82200, also an automatic movement with the same frequency and jewel count, offering a power reserve of 60 hours. All the watches are paired with leather straps in different shades of colors, and each comes with a pin buckle that matches the case material.
